Description

Clock, tall case. Made by Eli Bentley, Taneytown. c.1800. 86.5” x 19.5” x 12”. A: case; brass strap hinges on waist door; brass escutcheon in door. B: Flat top bonnet; arched door; molding above door. Painted iron dial; rose at center of arch; strawberries with leaves at each corner. Has large Roman numerals on dial with a smalll band of Arabic numerals around the outside. Signed "Eli Bentley Taney Town" on lower part of face. C: pendulum. D, E: weights. F: key for winding.
