Animal, mechanical. Monkey. 8"h x 1.5"w x 3.5"d. Made of tinplate - molded on a form - two large pieces joined by tabs form head and torso; arms and legs are flat - each is made to two pieces with a single join so the limbs move; round tail curves down and tapes to end. Monkey is dressed in a red fez, yellow vest with red polka dots and trim, high-collared shirt with black tie. Monkey is wearing a blue flocked tailcoat which is made from a single molded piece of tinplate. Marked "T O M 385" on hat and LEHMANN GERMANY across bottom of vest. A string runs from the monkey's belly, up through its hands, down through its feet and out through a small hole in its tail. Pulling string causes arms and legs to move.Acquisition
