Description

Coverlet. Natural color background with vine pattern in repeating bands of dark blue, olive green and red. Woven in three vertical strips. Fringed on three sides. Woven maker’s block reads: "W.H. GERNAND DAMASK COVERLET MANUFACTURER WESTMINSTER CA RROLL COUNTY, MD 1861." Maker's block in both lower corners; one can be read from the front - the other from the reverse. Name of owner is woven in dark blue. "C.E. LEISTER". 88"h x 84"w, excluding fringe.
