Tall case clock, cherry, 88.25" tall x 22.625" wide x 16.625" deep. C.1970. A: body, 66.25"h x 14.375"w x 9"d; waist and base are ornamented with chamfered front corners, steel rattail hinges affix the waist door; escutcheon is diamond-shaped and brass. Dial plate is rectangular with semicircular shape at top, painted steel with pink, green, and black floral motifs at corners, dial painted in black and metallic gold, numbered in Roman numerals, and inscription reads "C. R. Nusbaum" in script and "TANEYTOWN, MD" printed below the hands, moon dial depicts a grandmother figure that rocks with the beating of the clock in front of a hearth scene, including a drop leaf table, chair, spoon rack, and other items, hands are blackened brass, hour hand is cut out in an ornamental pattern, no second hand, internal side of clock backboard is marked with a series of dots that spell "C. R. NUSBAUM", clock works are steel and brass and is stamped "E12246" on cast iron back of clock mechanism. Weights and chains are brass. B: Hood; 31.125"h x 22.625"w x 16.625" d. The bottom of the clock hood creates a cornice for the waist, hood door has a brass foot hinge, front and rear corners of the hood are ornamented with Doric columns with 3 turned lines at top and bottom of each and wood capitals, hood top has a broken swan’s neck pediment with a volute at each side and three ball and cone turned finials.
