Clock, tall, cherry primary wood, tulip poplar secondary wood. 96.75"h x 21"w x 11.125"d. A: body; waisted case, shaped door with cut corners, flanked with fluted chamfered corner edges, base with recessed panel flanked by fluted chamfered corner edges, brass hinges of a tulip/vase design. B: hood, 36"h x 21"w x 11.125" d. Has molded swan's neck cornice with two carved rosettes, 3 turned finials, arched frame around glass in hood door, frame beveled to the glass, small rectangular window on each side. C: works; dial plate is painted iron, phases of moon display with ship with American flag, gilded gesso beading, quarter fan decoration in corners, sweep second and date hand, written inscription on dial reads "John Fessler (is script)/ FREDERICK TOWN", c. 1810.
