Clock, tall case. Clock measures 95.5" x 20.5" x 12.25". Clock appears to be entirely of cherry. The base of the clock has a paneled veneer front. The front corners are ornamented with spiral turned spindles, approximately 1.5" in diameter. The waist of the clock has a long rectangular door with chamfered corners at the top. This door is edged with a molding and the center is a panel of veneer. The front corners have two spiral turned spindles, with the top spindle being slightly longer than the one below it. Above the waist, there are two thin moldings before the body flares out into the bonnet. The bonnet has spiral turned spindles at the front corners and smooth turned spindles with a few decorative turned rings at the ends at the back corners. The top of the clock is ornamented with a broken swans neck pediment with a central plinth. No finials are present and there are no holes on the top of the bonnet where they would have been inserted. The front of the bonnet is veneered in cherry. Diamond shape side windows give a view of the works. A front window door reveals the painted iron face of the clock. The dial has pierced steel (with shapes of crescent moons) minute and hour hands and is marked with Roman numerals. A smaller dial in the center has a diamond shape pierced steel second hand. A recessed dial under the main dial shows the day of the month. The corners of the clock face are painted with birds on foliage, painted in blue, pink, green, and other colors. These paintings are surrounded by ornamental gilt dots. A moon dial is present at the semicircular top of the clock face. The back of the clock is composed by horizontal boards. The clock feet are bracket feet with decorative carving up to the base of the clock. The pendulum is poured lead with a brass front. Two poured lead weights are present, as is the winding key.
