Written on back: Chirstmas, 1897 at 189 East Main Steet, Westminster, Md. Dr. James H. Billingslea residence. Ruth Billingslea’s estimate that it was Uncle Punk’s (Leeds Kerr) second Christmas Uncle Punk – Leeds Kerr (in gown) 19 mos. Uncle Bob – Robert Kerr (behind Leeds) 8 yr, 11 mo. Uncle Howell – James Howell (holding book) 10 yr, 2 mo. Aunt Lottie Leigh – Charlotte Leigh (left of Howell) 11 yr, 9 ½ mo. Aunt Mary – Mary Spalding (in light dress) 5 yr, 7 ½ mo. Uncle Bennie – Charles Levine (long curls, which he detested) 4 ½ yr. This was also my great grandfather’s home – Dr. James Levine Billingslea. Three generations practiced medicine from the small office on the right side of the residence, Uncle Bennie, grandfather & great grandfather. Note by George Billingslea (donor).
