Original deed of gift reads "Several hand made dovetailed boxes from wood of the old Sam's Creek Strawbridge M. E. Church 1764. Made by Reuben Cassell, son of Geo. Cassell - whose father was a minister through the instrumentality of Robert Strawbridge." Robert Strawbridge was the founder of Methodism; a number of artifacts were made from the wood of his church. Accession card indicates there may be more than one box
