Description

Quilt. Friendship quilt, 1942. 70.5" x 90". Composed of 48 9" blocks each made by a different seamstress. Made of pastel cotton fabrics; pieced, appliquéd and embroidered; each block outlined by 2" red border. 4" red border with decorative stitching. Edged by bringing back to front and handstitching. Backing is white cotton. Quilt is dated 1942.
