Description

Quilt. Pieced and appliquéd friendship quilt with feathered star pattern. 104" x 106". Composed of 25 18.25" blocks; each block has and white 8-point feathered stars on red fabric printed with yellow flowers; at center of each block is a white diamond signed in black ink with name and city. Center block reads "Presented to the Rev. E.B. Henkle By The Members of the Methodist Protestant Church of the Westminster Station February 5, 1844". All handstitched. 5.5" border is a red and white sawtooth pattern with squares at corners. Edged by folding backing over top. Backing is white cotton.
