Pot. Ceramic, dark brown glaze. Barrel-shaped pot, angled top edge, raised rim with circular opening. Round lid, flat round finial with raised "B," "12' on edge. [The pot, lid and label were found separately in this box. The lid seems to fit even though it is broken, and the label did not match the other objects in this box.] 6"h x 4.25"w x 4.25"d.

Context

This bean pot was brought from Boston by Mary Shellman in the 1890s filled with baked beans for her mother, Catherine Jones Shellman.
