Medal, fraternal. Commemorating the 6th Massachusetts Regiment. Sterling silver. Metal "ribbon" across top reads "OLD SIXTH". Below this is a bar in the shape of a swag decorated with vines. Hanging from this is a round medallion decorated with embossed laurel wreath and shield flanked by flags; shield reads "FIRST IN THE FIELD." Reverse of medallion reads "BALTIMORE 19TH OF APRIL 1861" and is engraved at center "Mary Bostwic Shellman" in script. 2.375" x 3.625"Context
