General Notes

Note

Original deed of gift reads "chest dated (1787) Salome Lehman". Made for Salome Lehman (1763-1855) of Uniontown, in 1787 before her marriage to Jacob Yon. After her death in 1855, the chest passed to her son, Jacob, Jr., and his wife, Mary. Their daughter, Hannah Salome, inherited the chest and eventually it passed to her daughter, Florence E. Garner, the donor. Donor used it to store wool bed clothing.
