Description

A: Chest of drawers. 43"h x 43"w x 22.75"d.; cherry case with mahogany veneered top and front; matched bookend veneer on each drawer front; bird’s-eye maple veneer panels flanking overhanging top drawer; tulip poplar secondary wood. Four drawers with cut glass knobs; knobs on bottom drawer and proper left side of third drawer have been replaced with pressed glass knobs. Signed on back "Jacob Glazier Union Town Feb 1 1838". May originally have been stained to resemble mahogany; traces of red wash are visible on back of case. B,C: keys. Lock hardware appears to be original, has hand cut screws.
