Description

Chest, tool. Rough wood, rectangular hinged lid, painted black. Lid has raised rectangular section in center. Pointed oval steel escutcheon, patch of green paint on proper right. Iron C-shaped handle folds into each side. 20.25"h x 39"w x 23"d.

Note: trunk was locked and HSCC had no key. Trunk opened by Colonial Lock, August 2009; a new key was made. Chest was found to contain tools with labels indicating Dr. Maurice Shamer as donor. Colonial Lock paid $92 out of Collections Fund. (C.E.B.)
