Clock. The case clock has a wood casing with peaked top and double front finial motif, is 19.75" x 10 x 4", and has a double-hinged wood-framed glass door front with reverse painting glass case door. It has a metal clock face with painted Roman numerals and metal workings. An interior sticker notes manufacture by Wm. L. Gilbert & Co., Winchester, Conn. c.1842.Acquisition

Hand-written notes found inside the case indicate that the object was once owned by Mrs. Thelma Littlefield Shriner's great-great-grandfather residing near Walden Towers, Va. It was later brought by her great-grandfather to his residence at Bowling Brook Farms, Middleburg, Carroll County, Md. Clock was on the second floor landing at Hard Lodging.
