Clock, tall case. Primary wood is cherry; secondary wood is tulip poplar. A: body. Waisted case with carved, shaped door decorated with carved shell motif. Door flanked by fluted quarter columns. Base has fluted quarter columns and raised corner molding. Ogee feet. 80"h x 20.5"w x 12.5"d. B: hood. Broken arch pediment with carved rosettes and three flame finials. Fluted columns with brass bases and capitals at each corner. Arched door with replaced glass; small arched window at each side. 26"h x 19"w x 11.5"d. C: Works. Brass, 8-day works with painted moon dial; dial has paintings of ships, one of which is flying the French flag; Roman numerals; steel hands; gilt gesso bead decoration surrounds painted floral designs in each corner. D: Pendulum. E,F: Cast lead weights with bent rose head nails as hanging hooks.Acquisition
