Description

Coverlet. Peter Warner. Jacquard. Warp of natural and blue cotton; weft of brown, gold, rose and navy wools and cottons. Only one piece; other half missing. Field has large floral medallions and stars with 8 double-points. Wide border has house and trees down side; vine and leaves across bottom. Corner block reads "P. WARNER CARROLL COUNTY 1851 E.G. HOSHAL." "FANCY PATENT" across bottom.

HSCC Newsletter Vol. 13, No. 3, June 1964 reads "coverlet." Acknowledgement letter is dated 12 November 1963; mentions an 1851 coverlet by "Grenand".
