David Creamer [b. 20 November 1812 - d. 8 April 1887] was born in Baltimore, the son of Joshua (1789 - 1853) and Margaret Smith Creamer. Joshua was a lumber merchant in Baltimore; David joined the business under the name Joshua Creamer and Son; David retired in 1857. He was a Union supporter and served as foreman of the Grand Jury investigating the Pratt St. Riot of 19 April 1861. He served as a trustee of Dickinson College; one of the founders in 1836 of the literary magazine The Baltimore Monumental; author of Methodism in America; 1848 published Methodist Hymnology. Married Elizabeth Ann Taylor on 27 November 1834. Buried at Greenmount Cemetery. No descendents. Portrait by Thomas C.
