Written on two sheets; one sheet is 8.125" x 10.5" and is folded in half to form 8.125" x 5.25" booklet; other is 8.125" x 5.25" and has been torn from a larger sheet. Appears to have been mailed in an envelope but no envelope is present. Taney appears to be replying to a request from Mrs. Scott regarding appointing an unnamed person to a government position; Taney is declining the request.Acquisition
