Description

Desk, portable. Rectangular wood box, stained with gold leaf applied in floral and scroll designs on all surfaces except bottom. Two piece lid, rectangle hinged at back with keyhole and slant-top hinged at front. Flat surfaces inside are covered with brown velvet, center folds out for storage underneath. Three compartments in back-square hole on each side of rectangle with lift-out spacer. The desk belonged to Catherine Jones Shellman, the mother of Mary Bostwick Shellman. 3.25"h x 12.125"w x 8.625"d.
