14.25"h x 14.75"w x 0.625"d. Handmade valentine. Square frame, painted metallic gold. Circular paper with small drawings including hearts, birds, and trees. Circular message reads: "(1) On the 14th Day of February I was disposed to be merry lotts were cast and then I drew kind fortune said it must be you (2) When first I saw you blooming fair my heart was struck with hope and fear Wherever I go I think of you none else can love you half as true (3) You are the girl and only maid that hath my tender heart betrayed (4) I hope you will pardon my offence and an answer you will send hence but if you the same do disdain pray send it back to me again (5) but if this last kindness you do Refuse the paper ?heart and me excuse. Round is the ring that hath no end as is by love to you my friend. From R. H. Gill."
