Notes on accession card: "These pictures are where Frank Sell had his mill on Sell's Mill Road by Big Pipe Creek. There was an open field next to the mill race. Reportedly, the Confederate troops bivouaced next to the mill race. The sexton of Trinity (Garner?) took Gen. Meade into the tower of Trinity to spy on the Confederate troops at the Mill. Mr. Garner is a great-uncle of Louise Sell Martocci [donor]. Mrs. Sell Martocci's great grandfather Fogle had slaves on the farm. After the slaves were freed, they remained on the farm because they had been treated so well. He allowed them to stay in the tenant house, even after the property was sold. This was his wish."
