William Frey, of the Oakland area of South Carroll, entered the service on September 27, 1917. He reached the rank of Mechanic on March 18, 1918. Mechanic Frey served with Company M, 313 Infantry, Headquarters Company, 325 Infantry, and Company B, Demobilization Detachment at Camp Meade, where he received an honorable discharge on May 26, 1919. He served in the Lucey and Marbache Sectors and the Meuse-Argonne, and was wounded slightly on July 2, 1918.
