Notes

__ __The inscription on the back reads, "Jones Family Residence, built about 1815, once owned by Rippard, opposite old Davis Library on E. Main St. 133 block!". The typed inscription below it reads, "# 132-1322-134 East Main Street - Philip Jones House and Shop c. 1817 - The Jones residence, 134 has slightly more elaborate treatment than 123 1/2 (notice the more elaborate door surround) Although both buildings were used to house the Jones Family as it rapidly expanded. ** Notice the cornice (looks like little ginger bread men all in a row). The Jones iron and bacon store at the right of the building was used as an iron and bacon store. ***** The American Sentinel was once printed here (after its days in the Opera House), and the Sentinel's editor lived here at that time. ***** One of the Jones' relatives laid out the survey for Balitmore city. ***** Katherine Jones Shellman, mother of Mary Bostwick Shellman and wife of the first mayor of Westminster grew up in this house."
