Print, photographic. Koon Brothers store, E. Baltimore St.,Taneytown, c.1900. Copy print, produced, c. 1975. Original photographer: Ed Zepp. Process: Glossy Silver Gelatin Developing Out Paper. Shows two-story building with a glass store front window showing various wares. Above the door one can barely see "Koons" painted on the glass. On both the proper left and right sides horse drawn carriages are parked outside of the store. Overall size 8" x 10"; image size is 6.5" x 8".

Context

This photo shows the Koon Brothers store on East Baltimore Street in Taneytown, about 1900. Notice the domestic style of the architecture, which places the emphasis on its use as a home that just happens to have a business in it. Horses wait outside while their owners shop.
