From a scrapbook compiled by donor, Margaretta McCoy, documenting the flooding of Oakland Mills for construction of the Liberty Reservoir, 1953-54. HSCC did not receive entire scrapbook, only several pages consisting of photos mounted on blank newsprint. Photos have been numbered in order of their placement on the pages. Part of a collection of items from the Jones and McCoy families. Thomas L. Jones and Margaretta Reistine Jones had 4 children: Thomas L., Jr.; Catherine and Mary [of Baltimore]. Thomas L, Jr. was a contractor from Baltimore; he and his wife, Alice, had 4 children: Edmund, Frank, Ella and Louise. Thomas L. Jones, Sr. died in 1851; Margaretta married ____ McCoy and had a son, Edmund S. McCoy. Edmund McCoy owned a farm near Oakland Mills in Carroll County which he shared with his sisters, Catherine and Mary Jones. Edmund married Anna Matilda Bowman. Donor is the daughter of Anna and Edmund McCoy and is named for her grandmother, Margaretta Reistine Jones.
