Mask, gas. With accessories. A - Gas mask, can painted yellow, straps, mask, hose, safety pin. B - Bag, khaki heavy canvas, 2 compartments for can and mask, "R.C. Rohrbaugh /311 MG Bn" inscribed in gothic letters in black ink. C - Anti-dimmer, in yellow metal cylindrical can, with instructions. D - Stripper clip, with one 30.06 cal. and three 45 cal. shell casings, stored in muslin tobacco pouch with tag. E - Unidentified objects, four hard, black, thin, pieces, averaging one inch in diameter.

Note

Roswell C. Rohrbaugh, born on October 6, 1890, was from Millers in Carroll County. He served in Company D, 311 Machine Gun Battalion, 79th Division, American Expeditionary Forces during World War I. Mr. Rohrbaugh entered service on May 27, 1918, served overseas from July 8, 1918 to May 25, 1919, and received an honorable discharge on June 3, 1919. He served in the Avocourt and Troyon Sectors and the Meuse-Argonne Offensive.
