Photo shows upper torso and head of middle-aged man with sizable mustache in coat and tie. 6.5" x 4".

General Notes

Note

A native of Taneytown, William A. McKellip recruited and formed Company A, 6thRegiment Infantry, Maryland Volunteers in 1862. He was commissioned a Lieutenant, and advanced quickly to Captain, Major and finally to Lieutenant Colonel of the 6th. In 1902, President Theodore Roosevelt appointed him consul to Madgeburg, Germany. He died at his post in 1904.
