Original deed of gift reads "William H. Rinehart bust of My Mother" HSCC newsletter, Vol. 11, #4, November 1962: "After the death of his mother, Rinehart wrote his family asking for the prayer cap she always wore in order that he might reproduce it on the figure he was making of her. He then made casts of the bust for each of his brothers. One is now a prized possession of our Society. It was presented by Mrs. Harry Williar, daughter of Evan Thomas Rinehart and sister of Commander Evan Rinehart." Refers to a walnut base made by D. Myers Englar. Base not found at time of inventory.
