Note
Does not appear to be an original notebook kept by a surveyor in the field. Entries cover a wide time range and are not in chronological order. Are probably copies made by Henry Wilt Clay of early surveys. Belonged to Henry Clay Wilt (b. 5 March 1834 – d. 30 October 1914). Wilt was a surveyor, teacher, and Justice of the Peace. He was born on the family homestead at Piney Creek. Chain of ownership: Henry Clay Wilt to his son, George Walter Wilt; to his daughter Shirley Jane Wilt King; to her daughter, the donor.
