Portraits from the Darby, Shreeve and Grammer families. Benjamin Darby of Montgomery County, MD (b: Feb. 16, 1790 d: May 23, 1872) and Henrietta Kephart of Trevanion, Carroll County, MD (b: Aug. 14, 1803 d: June 3, 1876) married April 15, 1823. Mr. Darby went into business in 1823. In 1826, he moved to Fayettsville, Pa. In 1835 he formed a partnership with Col. Edward Colston in the erection of Honeywood Mills. The Darbys moved to Baltimore in 1846 and Benjamin formed a partnership with peter Kephart in fruit business which later changed to Darby & Co.
