Pin, lapel. Small round disk; dark blue border with white lettering reading CARROLL CO. HEALTH; white medallion at center with red cross that has two arms; straight pin on back. Paper label inside back reads "BANNERS - PENNANTS BUTTONS TORSCH & FRANZ BADGE CO. BALTIMORE MD". Paper over a metal base, with clear plastic covering to protect the paper. .625" diameter. 1930s

Note

Pin was awarded to donor while he was a student at Graceland School on East Green Street, Westminster. He recalled that a doctor or nurse came to the school and examined each student - taking pulse, listening to heart, examining eyes, mouth, throat. Donor started at Graceland in 1933 and received a pin each year. He believes the ones with the cross are the earliest.
