17.75"h x 14.75"w x 1.75"d. Color photograph of oil painting, gray-haired soldier with gold epaulets. Gilded mat with oval opening. Decorative gilt wood and gesso frame, reddish undercoat, with glass. Handwritten on back: "This is a photograph of a portrait of General James Winchester born in Westminster, Md., 1752-1826. The portrait was painted by Rembrandt Peale and hangs in the Tennessee Historical Society Museum in the War Memorial Building, Nashvillle, Tennessee. This was presented to the Westminster Historical House by Members of the Tennessee Historical Society. October 3, 1973. James M. White."
