Came from the home of donor's great-great-great grandparents, Jacob (b.1763 - d. 9 April 1828) and Elizabeth (b. 4 August 1770 - b. 31 May 1855) Nusbaum. The family lived near Linganore Methodist Church, Unionville, Frederick County. The couple had 6 children; two daughters never married. Anne was the last of the children to die (7 Feb 1908) at which point her belongings - including the quilt - were sold at auction. Donor eventually managed to acquire the quilt.
