The family of John David Kauffman (b. 8 July 1869 - d. 28 Dec 1930) rented the Peter Royer farm on Royer Road in Westminster, Md. for a number of years in the early 1900s. Kauffman raised horses and cattle on the farm and also had the contract to haul coal from the Western Maryland Railway to Western Maryland College. John’s wife was Anna Virginia Tully Kauffman (b. 26 June 1872 – d. 8 July 1937); their daughters were Ella Marie Kauffman Koontz (b. 5 Nov 1897 – d. 17 April 1999) and Helen Elizabeth Kauffman Erb (b. 27 April 1900 – d. 28 Oct 1988). Frame is in framed storage on second floor of Kimmey House.
