Description

Saber. Early 19th century officer's saber, used by Major Benjamin Gorsuch during the War of 1812. Silver, steel, ivory, leather. A: Saber. 32.5"h x 3.5"w x 1.75"d. Iron blade with groove. Metal hilt with eagle's head pommel. Flat, pierced knuckle-bow. Blade is 26.75". Unmarkded. B: Scabbard. 17.5"h x 1.75"w x .5"d; leather, metal band with button and carrying ring.
