General Notes

Note

Ira Tyler (1842-1905) enlisted in the 1st MD Infantry, Potomac Home Brigade as Commissary Sargent on November 28, 1861. He transferred to Co. C 6th MD Inf. as 2nd Lt. on July 31, 1862. He was promoted to 1st Lt. on March 2, 1863. He was taken prisoner at the 2nd Battle of Westminster, July 15, 1863 and imprisoned at Libby Prison in Richmond for 9 months before being exchanged. He was discharged on January 7, 1865.
