Exhibition label: "This vase was given by a Madame Duban (by way of the 'Merci Train') who wrote: Unknown friends Please accept my modest gift. Having lost everything Sept. 3/43 a friend gave me this vase to please me. I know that it is and antique, and I hope that in turn it will please you. The little doily I made myself. Forgive me if the workmanship is not perfect. In place of flowers, I fill the vase with my best wishes and many thanks from the bottom of my heart. I say "long live America" and thanks to all my American friends." Doily stored in Box #829 [K/3 : Kimmey House]
