Medal. Victory medal, World War I. (A) Medal: 3.25"h x 1.5"w x 0.125"d. Rainbow ribbon, two brass brackets reading "MEUSE-ARGONNE/DEFENSIVE SECTOR," with brass pendant depicting an angel with sword & shield. On reverse of pendant: US eagle and shield in center, surrounded by "THE GREAT WAR FOR CIVILIZATION" and countries involved in war. (B)Box: 0.5"h x 5"w x 2.25"d. White cardboard box, printed in blue "ONE VICTORY MEDAL UNASSEMBLED WITH PIN THE ART METAL WORKS, INC. NEWARK, N.J. CONTRACT NO. 9089-___ DATE: MARCH 2___." Stamped in purple on top "MEUSE ARGONNE DEFENSIVE SECTOR." The Art Metal Works, Inc., Newark, NJ, c. 1920
