Description

Black and white horizontal 8 x 10 photograph of the Lake Forest Train Station Verso: looking toward Market Square from park on north side of main building. Hugh R. McCullough, a Chicago and North Western railroad official, vacationed in the north woods near Duluth. In 1893, he arranged for this boat, which had belonged to an Indian chief, to be brought by flat car to Lake Forest. It was hewn from a solid log, no seams or bolts. Shows original length of platform shed roofs before cut back in 1960 when park was turned into a parking lot. Shows baggage cart and original brick surrounds to platform shed columns
