Description

Black and white photograph of Jack Kerrigan probably about 7 years old, circa 1946, in front of the four Kerrigan Express garages located at 334 Granby Road in Lake Forest. In the early 1900s, the garages housed the carriages and horses that were used for the business. J.F. Kerrigan Express was started by John Francis Kerrigan. They delivered trunks from the train station to many estates and also picked up catalog home kits from the box cars packed north of the stations, and delivered them to the selected sites. Francis John, son of John Francis, enjoyed talking about that period of his life. He worked with grandpa from the twenties to the depression period when the business folded.
