Hannah Judy Gretz: "I took this photo of a disembodied doll forearm and hand in the last days of February, on the brink of Covid isolation. It eerily presaged how we would soon be suddenly cutoff from physical community, the need to “reach out” to family, friends, and neighbors to check on one another, and the establishment a new sense of virtual community. I shot the photo along the Forest Park ring road, which became an even more treasured Lake Forest community locus for exercise, gazing at the lake, and waving distantly to others (from behind our masks)."Photograph Details
