Chicago, North Shore & Milwaukee Railroad. Looking north from Scott Street at the original McKinley Road on August 9, 1923. This dirt road that replaced Depot Avenue was deemed inadequate during World War I due to the automobiles and trucks moving between Chicago and Naval Station Great Lakes overwhelming Green Bay Road. images are also on a CD (1982.3.1 - 1982.3.29)
