Description

Chicago, North Shore & Milwaukee Railroad Headley Crossing, Lake Bluff. We are looking south at Scranton Avenue on June 8, 1923. Sheridan Road is on the left. Looking through the steps to the gate tower the North Shore Line's Lake Bluff station can be seen. The Chicago and Northwestern station is on the right. It remains in service in 2012. The square brick building is an electric substation that is feeding 600 volts of direct current into the North Shore's trolley wire to power their trains. images are also on a CD (1982.3.1 - 1982.3.29)
