"This building was erected at the same time as Market Square, on property adjoining the bank building, and is connected by a covered bridge with the second floor of the latter building. The second floor is given over to the gymnasium.
In 1958 the building was given to the city for recreation, municipal or public purposes." (1916) Social dances, the teens used the first floor lounge for social gatherings, first floor pool tables, and ongoing competitive basketball games upstairs. "Now privately owned and occupied by stores and offices." (1994)
