Dickinson Seminary: corner of Sheridan and College Roads. Precursor to Ferry Hall School For Girls.
The Dickinson Seminary for Young Ladies was opened on Sheridan Road by the Rev. Baxter Dickinson who served as first pastor of the Presbyterian church from 1862-67. The school continued for a decade and then the large frame structure became a boarding house, a dormitory for girls at the college, a dormitory for academy students, and about 1900 became the South School.
