Description

Toddlers Lawrence A. Carton and Robert W. Carton, c. 1921, observing fieldwork at their family estate, with two estate workers and horses hitched to a plow. Field at 6 East Laurel Avenue, at the northeast corner of Laurel and Green Bay Road. Alfred T. and Mildred Wells Carton estate, built in 1917-1918 - architect Chester H. Walcott, landscape architect James Roy West, with O.C. Simonds Landscape Design One of the workers may be gardener Enoch Dunn (1887-1944), who was an English immigrant who worked for Alfred T. and Mildred Wells Carton as gardener and chauffeur at 6 East Laurel Avenue from at least 1919 to his death in 1944.
