Verso" Donated by Miss Eva E. Oke, 819 North Oakwood Avenue, Lake Forest. Originally called the Central School, in 1905 it was renamed the Gorton School in honor of the nineteenth mayor of Lake Forest, Edward F. Gorton (1895-1902). In 1972 Gorton School was converted to the Gorton Community Center.
