Notes: Opened in 1907, Hillsboro Lighthouse marks the northern limit of the Florida reef. The 147-foot tall structure was constructed by the Russell Wheel & Foundry Company of Detroit, Michigan, and features a fresnel lens. In the 1990s the lighthouse underwent restoration and in 2003 was honored with a commemorative stamp from the U.S. Postal Service. (Fort Lauderdale Memories: A Postcard History, 1900-1960 by Todd L.
